At the height of the pandemic our client called in desperate need to finish their basement. They longed for a space their kids could retreat to for some roughhousing and play. Our goal was to make sure this once cold and dark basement could be transformed into a space that was an extension of their home and felt cohesive. Some items on their wish list were a wet bar, for those fun game nights where they could quickly mix up a drink or pop popcorn, and a functional drop zone was also a must for shoes and bags as they enter into their basement from the garage. With only one window in the entire basement, we honed in on finish materials that would make this space feel as light and airy as possible.
